It gives us great pleasure to announce Adam Smith as a new addition to the VC Fusion organization. Adam will be taking on the role of CEO and Director of Soccer. This is a new and exciting venture for our Club, and is yet another step in the right direction in taking the organization forward.
Adam has an extensive soccer background, most recently with his success as the Head Coach of Fresno FC, a previous full-time professional team from the USL Championship League. Prior to his appointment at Fresno, Adam was the Head Assistant Coach at Sacramento Republic, helping the organization achieve a 1st place finish in the Western Conference in 2016. Adam has also spent over 5 years in Major League Soccer, working for the Portland Timbers. His duties at Portland included being the First Team Goalkeeping Coach and the clubs inaugural Academy Director, being responsible for all academy teams curriculum and methodology from U14 to U23. Before beginning a coaching career, Adam played as a full-time professional goalkeeper, winning back to back USL National Championships with Long Island Rough Riders and Wilmington Hammerheads, respectively.
Outside of the soccer world, Adam has attained a Business degree from the Metropolitan University of Manchester (England UK), and has worked for several years in the financial services industry. We welcome Adam and his family back to the area, and to "OUR" Ventura County Fusion Soccer Club!
